The Neighbourhood Centre is a friendly and welcoming place encouraging community connection and involvement. If you are not sure where to go for help or you would like to become more active in the community TNC has a huge array of information about local associations, interest groups, leisure activities, self-help groups and community services
Meeting and Interview Room spaces are available for groups and organisations.
Over 200 volunteers each year donate an excess of 5000 hours to the range of The Neighbourhood Centre activities. A conservative figure for this aggregated contribution and excess of $120,000 however, the value of this involvement is immeasurable both to the centre and to the local community. Staff and volunteers also continue to assist around 100 people each day with inquiries and the delivery of services.
Our volunteers update the community services and activities, information on The Community Database at www.bathurst.nsw.au.
The Diary which is printed weekly in the Western Advocate is produced by our front desk volunteers. They collect statistics from inquiries, use of the meeting rooms and collates data into relevant categories.
