DISABILITY INFORMATION ADVOCACY SERVICE
  DIAS Inc is an independent advocacy and information service for people who have a disability, their families and carers.
 
     

DIAS is committed to working with people with disabilities, their families and carers to:
• Achieve the principles of the NSW Disabilities Services Act (1993) and the NSW Disabilities Services Standards;
• Achieve social justice in the areas of rights, access, participation and equity;
• Prevent or stop abusive, discriminatory or negligent treatment;
• Increase and improve well-being;
• Increase inclusion and acceptance in the community;
• Identify and prevent the causes of unjust and unfair treatment;
• Ensure that people’s fundamental needs can be met.

 
DIAS and You

DIAS is an independent information and advocacy service for people with a disability.

DIAS can provide information and advocacy to the families and carers of people with a disability.

DIAS is a service for people with a disability that can include intellectual, physical, sensory or psychological disabilities.

DIAS encourages people with a disability to speak up for their rights.

DIAS can refer people with a disability to activities and services of their choice, in the community.

DIAS welcomes feedback from people who access the service. They can make a suggestion or make a complaint.

DIAS maintains a Policy and Procedures Manual.

 

DIAS vision is:"to empower people with disabilities to be respected and valued members of the community”.
