Help
Tax Help is a free service, sponsored by the
Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
Tax Help is only for low income earners, that is:
• on an annual income less than $30 000
• on an annual income of $30 000 plus $2500 for each
dependant child under 16 years of age or student under 25
years.
Community
volunteers are trained by the ATO to help people understand
their taxation responsibilities, including preparing their
tax returns at tax time. Tax returns need to be lodged between
1 July and 31 October each year.
Tax
help appointments are available the Neighbourhood Centre –
July to October by ringing (02)63324866.
Please leave your name and contact number and a Tax help Volunteer
will contact you to make an appointment. Please ring early
as there is a great demand on this service and if you leave
it until October you may miss out.!!
