Become a member of the Happy Hopper Toy Library, and for less than the cost of one new toy, you r child can have access to more puzzles, activities, blocks and games than they could hope for.

Why become a member of the Toy Library?

• Provides an economical way for your child(ren) to experience a wide range of toys and eliminates the problem of children getting bored with toys that you have only recently purchased
• Gives your child(ren) an opportunity to experience toys that they might not normally have access to
• Provides an excellent opportunity to ‘try before you buy’
• Provides a setting in which you can meet other families
• A truly enjoyable experience that children can look forward to each week.

The Happy Hopper caters for children up to the age of 5 years, and we will endeavour to increase the range of our toys as much as finances permit, given that we are a not-for-profit organization

How do I become a member of the Toy Library?

Parents, Guardians, Grandparents, and Family Day Carers can all become members of the Happy Hopper Toy Library.

Family membership will cost you $10 per annum.

Just come along to the Bathurst Information and Neighbourhood Centre at 96 Russell Street on Fridays between 1 and 3pm.

You will be required to fill out a Membership Application Form and will be issued with your Membership Card.

Why is PLAY so important?

Play can ….
• Teach sequences ie What comes next? or What do I do next?
• Assist the development of imagination
• Help develop pre-reading and pre-writing skills and verbal communication skills
• Help memory
• Strengthen number skills; toddlers taught simple maths ideas, like bigger or smaller, and more or less, do better in maths when they are older
• Help visual scanning and perception
• Aid gross motor and/or fine motor skills and coordination
• Promote self-esteem
• Develop socialising skills including cooperation and sharing
• Help children to represent their ideas in a variety of forms as they talk about their thoughts, construct, paint, build and take on a role.

The Happy HopperToy Library aims to broaden the learning experiences of the children of our community through play that enriches their language, numeracy, social interaction, fine motor skills, imagination and creativity.
