Purpose of the Position:
- To provide a companionship and monitoring role to people who may be socially isolated
Main Duties:
- Provide social support to customers within their homes and community
- Record feedback and concerns within database
- Demonstrate friendly visiting by engaging in supportive and position conversations with clients, to monitor wellbeing and promote social inclusion
- Ensure any concerns are delivered to the Service Manager as soon as possible
Other Responsibilities:
- Respect customers privacy and confidentiality (i.e. anything raised by the customer must not be discussed with anyone other than staff members)
- To make the Aged and Communities team aware of customer feedback for continuous improvement
- To respect and encourage the customers differing needs for independence
- To advise Aged and Communities service manager should you are unavailable for your rostered shift
- To bring to the attention of the Aged and Communities service manager any customer concerns that may need attention (it is not the responsibility of the volunteer to follow up these issues)
- Comply with WHS regulations and volunteer policy

- A caring attitude towards older people and those living with a disability
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
